From Loss to Purpose
JRM Medical Center was not born in a boardroom. It was born in grief. At just 13, I lost my father. A few years later, I buried two siblings within 12 months. And in my first year of medical school, when I thought I had finally found the tools to save her, I lost my mother too.
These devastating losses could have ended my dream. Instead, they became my reason to fight. I saw firsthand how illness in our society is often misunderstood, misattributed to witchcraft, and shrouded in stigma. I made a vow to uncover the truth, to bring healing, and to protect other families from the same suffering.
I chose breast cancer as my life's work because it is the leading cancer among women in Cameroon, claiming nearly 2,000 lives every year, yet still remains a subject of silence, myths, and fear.

Clinical Experience & Impact
Surgical & Clinical Expertise
As a registered member of the Cameroon Medical Council, Dr. Maimo upholds the highest professional and ethical standards in his surgical and medical practice.
At Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, one of China's leading teaching hospitals, I have gained extensive experience in the operating theater, with over 300 breast surgeries performed, including lumpectomies, mastectomies, and advanced oncoplastic techniques.
I also serve as a Private Consultant at Jinan Jingtan Hepatobiliary Hospital, where I manage complex surgical cases and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
In Cameroon, I founded and lead JRM Medical Center, providing specialized breast surgery, cancer care, and community-centered treatment. Our services go beyond hospital walls to empower patients and restore dignity to families.
Cancer Light Network: Extending the Mission
Because one center alone cannot change the cancer story, I founded the Cancer Light Network—our outreach and advocacy arm. Through this platform, we:
- Educate communities with evidence-based, culturally sensitive cancer awareness
- Dispel myths and fight stigma associated with cancer and other diseases
- Support patients, survivors, and caregivers through their physical and emotional battles
- Train health professionals, volunteers, and community leaders
- Advocate for stronger cancer control policies in Cameroon and across Africa
