Cancer Light Network, in association with JRM Medical Center, is pleased to announce the launch of two structured professional training programs designed to strengthen breast cancer knowledge, early detection capacity, and community leadership in Cameroon and across Africa.

1. Breast Cancer Essential – Certificate Course

The Breast Cancer Essential Certificate Course is a structured foundational program designed to provide participants with accurate, up-to-date, and clinically relevant knowledge on breast cancer.

Who This Course Is For:
• Medical students
• Nurses
• General practitioners
• Community health workers
• Public health professionals
• Healthcare volunteers

Course Focus Areas:
• Breast anatomy and physiology
• Breast cancer epidemiology (with African context)
• Risk factors and prevention strategies
• Early detection principles
• Triple assessment model
• Overview of treatment pathways
• Survivorship and follow-up care
• Addressing myths and misconceptions

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion upon successful participation and assessment.

This course aims to raise the baseline standard of breast cancer knowledge in both clinical and community settings.

2. Certified Breast Cancer Community Educator (CBCCE)

The Certified Breast Cancer Community Educator (CBCCE) program is a specialized training designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, communication skills, and confidence to deliver accurate breast cancer education within their communities.

Who Should Apply:
• Community leaders
• Faith leaders
• Teachers
• NGO staff
• Nurses
• Public health advocates
• Outreach volunteers

Program Objectives:
• Master breast self-awareness education
• Understand warning signs and referral pathways
• Correct harmful myths using culturally sensitive approaches
• Lead structured community education sessions
• Serve as trusted cancer awareness ambassadors

Participants who successfully complete the program will receive official certification as Certified Breast Cancer Community Educators (CBCCE).

In Cameroon and much of sub-Saharan Africa, late-stage breast cancer diagnosis remains common. One of the most effective strategies for change is strengthening knowledge at both clinical and community levels.
